AHHA Elections
The AHHA is readying for the 2004 elections for the Board of Directors and Breeding Committee. We are seeking nominations for director and/or committee members and have extended the deadline for submitting your nominations until October 15th. We depend on an all-volunteer board of directors to provide leadership and direction for the association and the breed. Please consider lending your time and expertise.
The AHHA Board of Directors has authorized the publication of the Mare Division of the AHHA Stud Book. Most breeders know that the AHHA mare division of the AHHA Studbook currently exists only as a database and that only the Stallion portion is printed and distributed.
Recognizing that mare owners have a desire to have information on their broodmares published as well, the AHHA Board has directed the development of a comprehensive 2004 AHHA Studbook that includes divisions for both Stallions and Mares.
This book will become a vital reference for breeders and will allow prospective breeders an additional opportunity to do more research on our breed and the outstanding horses available for breeding. It will also provide mare owners the unique opportunity to provide information on their mares and advertise the availability of those horses for potential outside breedings.
In order for your mare to appear in this important listing, you must activate your mare prior to November 1, 2003. More information and a reproducible activation form is available in the Fall Impulsion magazine, and the AHHA Mare Activation Page.
AHHA 2004 Awards Program
The AHHA has expanded its awards program for 2004 and is currently looking at ways to better recognize horses and breeders in the future as well. In order to be able to continue to offer awards through the AHHA and the USDF and to expand awards to our breeders, we have implemented an annual activation fee of $15 to participate in the awards program. This fee is in line with that of most other registries and will enable us to continue to recognize excellence in Holsteiner breeding and competition.
A 2004 AHHA Awards Program Activation form is enclosed in this mailing and is available on the AHHA Awards Page.
We are dedicated to ensuring that the Impulsion magazine remains the same high quality source of information on the American Holsteiner horse, on breeding and the issues that impact breeders, horses, and your association.
The Impulsion magazine is completely dependent upon member support and advertising. Only through the generous support of members willing to advertise their horses, farms, products, and services are we able to bring the Impulsion to you four times a year. Please show your support for your breed, your farm and your association by taking out an advertisement in the Impulsion.

CONTRACT AND COPY REGULATIONS
A. All contents of advertisements are subject to publisher’s approval.
1. Publisher reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement, insertion order, space reservation, or position commitment at any time.
2. Publisher expressly reserves the right not to publish any advertisement which, in the opinion of the publisher, is in bad taste, could be misleading, is unsupported by facts or record, or which, in the opinion of the publisher, does not conform to the standard and style of the AHHA Stallion Roster.
3. All advertising claims and assertions must be supported by documentary evidence, all facts verified, and if put in question by the AHHA Stallion Roster, burden of proof rests with advertiser and its agency.
B. The advertiser and its agency agrees to relieve the AHHA Stallion Roster and its employees of responsibility from any and all claims or suits arising out of publication of advertising based on information supplied by advertiser.
C. All advertising cancellations and/or copy changes, including rerun orders, must be in writing. The advertiser or its agency may not make cancellations or changes in orders after the closing date.
D. No advertising copy will be taken by telephone.
E. Publisher requests typewritten or legibly printed copy; avoid strikeovers and abbreviations. Publisher is not responsible for errors in original copy or because of misinterpretation of illegible handwriting.
F. The word “advertisement” will be placed with copy, which, in the publisher’s opinion, resembles editorial matter.
G. Black and white photographs unmarked and untrimmed are preferred; no proofs will be accepted.
H. Photographs of horses over fences in which the rider is not wearing approved headgear will not be accepted.
I. When change of copy is not received by closing date, copy from the previous issue will be inserted.
J. Publisher shall have no liability for errors for which written notification is received from advertiser later than two weeks after issue date. The publisher’s liability for any error shall not exceed the cost of space occupied by the error.
