R Letter from the new AHHA President
R 2nd Chance Stallion Service Auction Information
R Results of the Stallion Service Auction
Kelly Werner has been hired as the new Executive Director of the AHHA.Kelly comes to us from the American Farrier’s Association where she performed a wide variety of duties over a 10 year time period. As a horse person, she is looking forward to meeting new challenges with the AHHA. Her top priority will be working with the Board and the members to continue the positive momentum of the AHHA.
2nd CHANCE STALLION SERVICE AUCTION
The
2nd Chance Stallion Service Auction will begin on February 20, 2002
at 9:00 a.m. (EST) and ending on February 22, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. (EST).
We
hope that our members (and others, as well) will support both the stallion
owners and the AHHA by bidding in the 2nd Chance Auction. This
is a great opportunity to breed your mare to one of our fine stallions at a
reduced fee!
At its January meeting, the AHHA Board of Directors determined that there would be two approvals tour this year, one in August and one in October. The dates and place will be announced as soon as the final decisions are made. So, more to follow!
Show season is upon us and I would like to introduce the members of the AHHA Awards Committee for 2002. They are: Arlene Rigdon, Rebecca Rigdon, Abby Sjoberg, Terry Smith, Doris van Heeckeren, Ed Wallace and Carla Ward with myself (Maggie Sjoberg) chairing the committee. The committee will be reworking some of the divisions (especially the jumpers) in the next few weeks, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please let us know. Are there divisions you would like to see expanded, combined, etc? We are considering awarding coolers at the national level to recognize Holsteiners in each discipline. Do you have suggestions for guidelines to be followed? The Awards Committee is here to recognize your accomplishments with your Holsteiners, so let us know what you want!
Lastly,
be sure to enroll/activate your horses for the 2002 competition year and
remember to keep your membership current. Check our website or contact the
office for updates to the program, horses enrolled, exact requirements, etc.
Good
Luck to all in 2002!
Maggie Sjoberg, Chairman
