DNA Typing Kit Order Form

Important Info: DNA Typing and New 1999 Bonit System
Instructions:
DNA Typing/Parent Verification is required for (see Article XII of th AHHA Breeding and Registration Rules):
- Horses entering the AHHA Studbooks (DNA typing only)
- Foals produced by frozen semen.
- Foals produced by embryo transfer
- Foals resulting from the mare being covered by more than one stallion in the same breeding season..
- In cases where the Foal/No Foal Report is not postmarked within 4 weeks of the foal's birth.
- Horses imported to North America in utero
- Horses for whom registration applications are submitted after 48 months of age.
- Horses for whom a duplicate registration certificate is being requested
- Any horse the AHHA should require due to question of identity
In order for the results of the DNA typing/parent verification to be on file for the AHHA at the laboratory, the DNA kits must be supplied by the AHHA.
To order a DNA kit, complet the bottom portion of this sheet and mail with the appropriate fee (see below) to:

You will receive the complete kit with further instructions by mail. (The kits are mailed to you directly from AnSci Products and not from the AHHA Office).
Results of the DNA typing will be permanently on file at the Genetics Laboratory at the University of California at Davis. The results will be sent directly to the AHHA Central Office.
- $65 per horse (includes the kkit and laboratory work)
- $40 for those horses previously bloodtyped for the AHHA (Prior to 12/8/88) that must now be DNA typed.
- $30 for those horses previously bloodtyped for the AHHA (After 12/8/88) whose BT can be used to determine DNA. (No kit required but fee must be paid and information below provided)
